NextGeo launches an Open innovation challenge: the Augmented Reality applied to marine inspections

Fabbrica Italiana dell’Innovazione, in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, announces the extension of the Call for Solutions launched by Next Geosolutions Europe Spa (NEXTGEO), a global leader in marine geosciences and offshore construction services.
The Challenge
The Call for Solutions is open to SMEs, startups, and spin-offs operating nationally and internationally, offering innovative solutions to address the technological challenge proposed by NEXTGEO.
The objective is to develop an augmented reality application to:
- Integrate real-time data with the video feed from ROVs (Remote Operated Vehicles), enhancing visibility in complex underwater environments.
- Support target identification and unexploded ordnance detection through the overlay of additional information, ensuring greater safety and efficiency in underwater operations.
The application must demonstrate practicality, sustainability, and scalability, with Proof of Concept (PoC) ready for advanced development and testing phases.
Eligibility Requirements
Applications are open to:
- SMEs, startups, and spin-offs, nationally and internationally, with innovative projects, preferably in the prototyping phase.
- Solutions that ensure high technical and commercial potential.
